“I never knew about Little Blessings until my sponsor Dr. Phillips,(my orthopedic surgeon I work with, my friend), noticed I was down and wasn’t really myself, personality wise. He sensed that things were off so after finishing a case, he stopped me in the hall and asked how I was doing and if everything was okay. At the time, I was really struggling mentally with my ptsd and depression and so I told him about it. Later that day, he sends me a link for the Little Blessings site and explains to me that he had a friend (fellow veteran) go thru the program and told me that if I was interested and wanted to do it that him and his wife would be willing to help me with my situation. So after checking out the site and going out to the ranch and talking it over with Jamie, I messaged Dr. Phillips and decided to go through with it.”
Little Blessings has allowed me to be myself day in and day out, whether I’m up for the task or not. I’ve learned many lessons on how to cope with my emotions and depression and how to see things in a different perspective, so that I can have more patience with things. I feel like I’ve been able to bring back the best of me to my family and friends. Of course there’s always gonna be bad days but the support I have from my sponsor, family and the LB family, I’m more at peace than I have been in a long time, so I’m thankful for everyone involved, including all the beautiful, majestic horses.
