Beyond the Mission: What a First Step Looks Like

Beyond the Mission is back and this one is important. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Many people assume veterans come to Little Blessings to pet horses and walk the property. And while those moments matter, that is not the whole picture.

This week alone, two veterans walked through our doors in crisis. Suicidal. In need of immediate support and because of the team we have built here, we were ready.

A licensed mental health professional is down the hallway. The right staff, the right space, and the right support are in place so that when a veteran walks in at their lowest moment, we can meet them there without hesitation.

One of those veterans was able to sit with our mental health provider that same day, schedule an intake, and begin moving forward. Their spouse connected with our spouses program. Their kids were introduced to our military kids program.

This is what it looks like when a whole family gets the support they need all in one place.

Lots happens when a veteran walks through that gate and we would not have it any other way.

If you are a veteran or a family member in crisis, please reach out. We are here. Stop by any hour, any day.
Call or text 988 and press 1 for the Veterans Crisis Line if you need immediate support and can’t get here.
