Something often said about Haflingers is that once you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. While each horse is unique in their own way, this sentiment is drawn from the fact that all purebred Haflingers are the same general colors.
Our boy Sonny here is modeling the traditional Haflinger look of a chestnut horse with a flaxen mane and tail. Haflingers may have some shade variation as well as diversity in facial markings, but they will always be chestnut.
Sonny is a very light colored Haflinger, and could easily be mistaken for Palomino but because he is a Haffy, he is chestnut! He also has some markings called “dapples”, which are the lighter circular markings in his coat.
