Today we want to share some detailed information. We have shared it in the past, but we want to share it again.
When a Veteran walks through our doors asking for help, that’s what we do!
When we have a Veteran who wants to go through a year long mental health program and they are informed, understand the requirements and are ready to make that commitment to themselves, then we start them immediately.
The cost of this program is $4100. The Veteran is required to put a $100 deposit down that shows they are willing to invest in themselves. The $4100 is most often sponsored by one of our incredible community partners.
Many times we will start these Veterans before we have the funding in place. Why would we do that, you ask??? When a Veteran shows up and is asking for help, we help them!
It is the Executive Director’s job along with her board members to figure out the funding piece. We absolutely do not hold a Veteran back from getting mental health assistance they are asking for.
The picture below is from a Veteran that graduated in the spring. We share this picture with you for a couple reasons.
1. This Veteran is still going to have bad days. We DO NOT claim to fix anyone. We offer healthy coping skills and a trusted community that will forever be available when the Veteran needs to reach back out.
2. Something special that we do for each Veteran is provide the with a piece of tail from the horse they have most bonded with during their journey. The tail piece is then turned into a charm the Veteran can take with them.
This provides the Veteran with comfort, the ability to recall special moments they have had with that horse and most of all, they can physically feel them in their hands, continually encouraging them each and every day.
We are beyond grateful for each and every sponsor who has INVESTED in our heroes who have sacrificed so much!
YOU ARE SAVING LIVES!!!
To date, this program along with YOU generous community partners, have saved 22 lives!!!
