Purple Up for Military Kids

Started in 2011 by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), Purple Up! Day is a special part of April’s Month of the Military Child—a time to honor and recognize the incredible strength and resilience of military-connected youth.
Military children are often called “hidden heroes.” They serve too, enduring frequent moves, shifting friendships, and long separations from parents. They grow up quickly, learning adaptability, compassion, and strength far beyond their years. They carry their experiences quietly and bravely, often without the same recognition as the adults in uniform.
At Little Blessings, we believe these kids deserve to be seen, celebrated, and supported. That’s why we created our SEEAL Military Kids Program—a safe and uplifting space where military kids can connect with others who share similar experiences, build social-emotional skills, and gain confidence through meaningful, collaborative activities with our therapy horses.
Today, we PURPLE UP to say: We see you. We thank you. We’re here for you.
Let’s show these incredible kids just how proud we are of them.
