We cannot express our most sincere gratitude enough to Bob Baxter, President, Mercy Health – Toledo.

As a leader in the Toledo, Baxter oversees strategy and operations for eight hospitals — eight hospitals, including a children’s hospital and a Level 1 Trauma Center – one college, Life Flight critical care network and more than 100 sites of care across Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Bob previously served as the President and CEO, St. Rita’s Health Partners and Senior Vice President, Mercy Health which included two hospitals, four physician joint ventures and a wholly owned physician enterprise. Prior to joining Mercy Health, Baxter served as the Chief Operating Officer at Rapid City Regional Hospital in South Dakota.

Bob is a member of the Board of Directors for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, Regional Growth Partnership, United Way of Greater Toledo, and ConnectToledo Downtown Development Corporation. He previously served as a delegate to the American Hospital Association (AHA) Regional Policy Board, a member of the ACHE Chapters Committee, President of the South Dakota Healthcare Executive Group, and received the ACHE Early Career Healthcare Executives Regent’s Award
Bob brought 16 of his top executives to an experiential equine assisted development day at our ranch.
Bob and his team were able to step into the shoes of Veterans going through our 50 week equine assisted therapy program. They were educated on each phase of the program and what is has to offer in the healing process.
They dove in and asked critical questions pertaining to the VA health care systems. They wanted to hear what the “real” transition looks like and what the Veteran endures in this process.
An I to a WE then back to an I. This is the reality these Veterans live with everyday. He and his team were able to dive into what leadership looks like through the eyes of his team and the horses.
They discovered it’s not always what it appears to be at first glance. So many amazing things could be said about today’s retreat.
We were founded on Mercy and we hope to continue to build our relationship and grow towards bigger and life changing opportunities.
Great work today!!
