The Month of the Military Child

Tomorrow marks the beginning of a month that recognizes and celebrates our heroes’ biggest little supporters! If you know Little Blessings, you know how much we love our military kids!
Since 1986, April has been recognized as the Month of the Military Child, a time to honor the sacrifices, resilience, and strength of military kids! Established by the Department of Defense, this month acknowledges the unique challenges these resilient kids face—frequent relocations, long separations from parents, caretakers struggling with their own trauma, and the pressures of military life—while also celebrating their incredible adaptability and courage.
Did you know?
There are over 1.6 million military children worldwide.
On average, military kids move 6-9 times before they graduate high school.
Many military children experience multiple deployments of a parent, sometimes lasting months or even years.
The official color of the Month of the Military Child is purple, representing the combined colors of all military branches.
At Little Blessings, we recognize and celebrate these young warriors who serve in their own way. Whether they were born into military life or embraced it along the way, military children show bravery, resilience, and strength beyond their years.
