Welcome to the herd!

Meet the new team members at the LB Ranch!

Miss Liberty: Liberty is an eight-month-old foal who arrived at the ranch on July 8th. As a young horse, she was collateral damage to the slaughterhouse pipeline. Too small to make money for kill buyers, she was abruptly separated from her mother and shuffled from auction to auction. She was finally purchased by a young woman who used her week’s wages to buy the foal. She named her Liberty. The young women didn’t have the money to support Liberty’s continued care. Liberty’s owner connected with Jamie Paxton, Air Force combat veteran and the Founder of Little Blessings Veteran and Community Outreach, through friends. And Liberty now has a forever home! Liberty joins Little Blessings as part of its 18-week Military Kids program, where she and the children of veteran and Gold Star families will grow together. Liberty’s short life of stress, resilience, and strong spirit is a story military children understand as their family situation changes with each deployment, the transition to civilian life, and in some cases, coping with the effect of the veteran’s service-related traumas.

Miss Tango: She is a 4.5 month old mini who arrived yesterday. She too will be part of the Military Kids Social Emotional Equine Assisted Learning Program.

Mr. Foxtrot: He is 14 months old and he too arrived yesterday. He will be added to the Military Kids program too.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for Liberty and Foxtrot. We have already had a wonderful woman want to sponsor Tango. If interested in learning more about our sponsorships please reach out to Jamie at 419-779-0342 or email me at jamie@littleblessingsveteranoutreach.com
