While our horses have plenty of natural ways to stay warm, from growing thick winter coats to their incredible circulation and cold-resistant legs, we like to give them a little extra help through the colder months.
Some of the ways we keep our herd cozy include providing extra forage (which helps them generate body heat), keeping their water ice-free, and making sure they have shelter from icy winds and frigid temps.
They give so much to us and our veterans all year long, so it’s only right that we give a little extra back to them when the temperatures drop.
